LABORA STUDIO
Founded in 2024 by Antonio Poce and Valerio Murat, the artistic production laboratory aims to represent the diversity of contemporary culture. It operates as a co-working space, bringing together talents, artists, creatives, and electronic arts experts to promote and enhance various professional opportunities in a growing market. The platform is a hub for collaboration and innovation, fostering a dynamic environment for creative expression. The laboratory strives to push the boundaries of artistic exploration and cultural representation by nurturing a community of diverse skills and perspectives.
Labòra Studio, a place of creative convergence, is nestled between the ancient walls of an 11th-century church and the remnants of a Roman Theatre dedicated to Mercury. This unique location, steeped in history and symbolism, is a constant source of inspiration for our work, which strives to embody the spirit of encounters, crossroads, hybridisations, and multiple perspectives.
At Labòra Studio, creativity knows no bounds. Our three levels offer diverse tools and spaces for artists to explore and innovate. The first level is a hub of audiovisual recording and post-production technologies. The second level is dedicated to traditional analogue visual arts, providing a nostalgic touch to our modern space. The third level, a flexible and open space for experimentation, invites artists to push boundaries and embrace creativity in all its forms. This dynamic environment fosters collaboration and innovation across different disciplines.
Musical thinking drives the combination of different art forms and modern multimedia solutions. We consider Music a visual art form. Among all arts, it holds a unique position: it is the most subtle. Living in the urgency of time, it is naturally elusive. Music has the power to evoke emotions and transcend language barriers.
The fleeting nature of inspiration demands strict discipline from those who seek it. Sharpening perceptive qualities is crucial in this field. Euterpe, the Muse of Music, has always been rigorous and possessive. Composers have struggled to understand the source of their creative ability, their strong memory for the big picture, and their intuitive grasp of managing forms over time and space. Our work is defined by complexity and craftsmanship.
Our context is not just a backdrop but a physical space where a community of artists thrives on change and generous knowledge sharing. These choices allow us to create works free from conflicting anxieties, blending the indefinite with precision, the wonder of representation with technical rigour, and the need for a stable order with fleeting images. It delves into urban semiotics as interactive knowledge material and artistic production as intermedial practice. In the art field, it breaks free from the constraints of linear time, embracing various styles and languages without conflicts. This approach fosters a dynamic and inclusive creative environment.
The Labòra Studio is a place where the personal experiences and aspirations of the artists who work there are valued, following aesthetic, ethical, and economic principles. It rekindles a vision of creative collegiality with deep roots, a time free of egocentrism or self-referential notoriety.
An aesthetic concept far removed from later opposing schemes has led to confusion and even stagnation in art. These ideas have misled simple souls and led the brightest minds to near-irreversible sterility. They have also given rise to destructive ideologies that have ravaged the world in the last two centuries.
Our collaborative predisposition is an essential quality that manifests in the structure of Co-Working. The individuals hosted there belong to a cultural fabric that gathers our region’s best artistic talents and expressions from major educational institutions.
